Research Before You Open Your Wallet

This ad for a kymaro body shaper is a huge reminder that the buyer should beware.  If you look at the before and after pics at the bottom right of the ad, you realize that there is no way at all that it’s the same person.  The pictures look super sketchy and the “after” butt is sucked in so far it barely even exists!

My concern here, besides people wasting their hard earned money, is the huge waste of resources that are used to produce, advertise, sell and ship these products.  If you read any of the online reviews for this product, or any of the myriad of similar products advertised in infommercials, commercials and “as seen on TV” ads, you’ll realize there are very few satisfied customers.

So what happens to all of these bad products after they are received?  Many return them to the company that they bought them from.  So, the product is shipped again wasting fossil fuels, causing useless air pollution and wasted paper packaging.  All for a product that is essentially garbage to just about anyone.  You know someone’s making profit from these types of things.  The earth is certainly not benefiting from these type of things!!

Before you buy the next latest gadget, research it online to see what other buyers have thought.  Consider whether or not you really need it all.  And most importantly, consider whether the cost is worth it — both to your bank account and to the planet on which we all live.
